  • New York to get a very special Target pop-up

    Target is setting up shop in downtown Manhattan — but it’s no ordinary store and it’s just for the holidays.

    On Dec. 9, Target will officially open Target Wonderland to the public, which the retailer describes as a “first-of-its-kind retail experience” that is part magical toy store and part Pop Art exhibit.

    More than 100 senior retail executives are already confirmed as speakers for a first-of-its-kind event called Shoptalk that will be held next May with a focus on next generation commerce.

    Organizers of the event have confirmed speaker participants including Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and mobile; Casey Carl, Target chief strategy and innovation officer; Joe Megibow, chief digital officer at American Eagle Outfitters; John Koryl, president of Neiman Marcus stores and online and Andrea Wasserman, senior VP and head of direct-to-consumer at Nine West Group.

    Earlier this month, Reebok was hit with a proposed class action alleging that the company’s website violates the Americans with Disabilities Act because it is not accessible to the blind. The plaintiffs argue that Reebok.com contains “thousands of access barriers” that make it difficult — if not impossible — for blind customers to use the site.

    The pharmacy services segment helped CVS Health post a $10.3% increase in net revenue in the third quarter.

  • Target aims for a seamless holiday season

    Target has an aggressive new plan to lure shoppers this holiday season that includes free shipping on all orders and a new international website.

    The plan is part of Target CEO Brian Cornell’s efforts to restructure the company and revamp its digital and in-store offerings. Free shipping starts Nov. 1 and ends Dec. 25.

  • CVS Health announces results of solid Q3

    For the third quarter ended Sept. 30, CVS Health reported $38.6 billion in net revenues, representing an increase of 10.3%. Revenues across the Pharmacy Services Segment increased 13.3% to $25.5 billion, primarily driven by growth in specialty pharmacy and pharmacy network claims.

    “We delivered solid revenue and operating profit growth across our businesses, and we continue to expect significant growth in the fourth quarter, rounding out another terrific year for our company,” Larry Merlo, CVS Health president and CEO, said.
