  • Report: Man charged with attempting to plant bombs in Target stores

    Target Corp. is the central player in a drama that even Hollywood wouldn’t dream    A Florida man has been charged with plotting to bomb Target stores along the East Coast — an attempt to cheapen the company’s stock.  
  • Retail CEOs meet with Trump

    The CEOs of Gap, Best Buy, Target Corp., J.C. Penney and several other national retailers met with President Trump on Wednesday to discuss tax reform and to make their case against the so-called border tax adjustment.  
  • Nordstrom Rack doubles down on Manhattan

    Nordstrom announced the second Big Apple location for its off-price division.   Nordstrom Rack will open at Durst Organization's mixed-use building at 855 Sixth Avenue.    The approximately 46,500-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in fall 2017. It occupy the first three floors of the newly constructed office/residential tower. The location is on the corner of 31st Street, two blocks from Herald Square.  
  • Target veteran joins Famous Footwear

    Caleres has made two executive appointment in its Famous Footwear division.   The company named Karlyn Mattson as chief merchandising officer, leading Famous Footwear’s buying, merchandising, planning, allocation and analytic functions.     Mattson joins Caleres from a 25-year career at Target Corp., where she was most recently VP merchandise manager of shoes, accessories and intimate Apparel for retail and online. She held leadership positions at May Company and Macy’s.  
  • These three retailers are tops in corporate reputation

    Another corporate ranking, another first place finish by Amazon.   The online giant came out on top in Harris Poll’s annual corporate reputation rankings report. The poll measures the reputations of the 100 most visible companies in the United States as perceived by the general public.        
  • In-store yogurt cafe coming to Walmart

    Target soon won’t be the only discounter to feature an in-store Chobani Cafe.    The popular Greek yogurt brand will open a 2,000-sq-.ft. café at Walmart’s new supercenter in the Houston suburb of Tomball, reported the Houston Business Journal. The store is scheduled to open on Feb. 15.  
  • Target to help health-related start-ups ‘takeoff’

    Target is prepping for another program aimed at start-ups, specifically those focused on health and wellness.   The new program, called “Target Takeoff,” supports health- and wellness-related start-ups through a “mini-accelerator” effort that will help young companies develop and connect with the major retailers in town.  
  • Pharmacy services segment fuels CVS Health Q4 sales

    CVS Health on Thursday reported record fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year 2016 results   Net revenues for the three months ended Dec. 31 increased 11.7% to $46 billion, up from $41.1 billion in the year ago period.
