  • Saks Fifth Avenue store in Tampa, Fla., to close

    New York -- Saks Inc. says it plans to close its Saks Fifth Avenue store in WestShore Plaza in Tampa, Fla., on May 4.

    Steve Sadove, chairman and CEO of Saks, commented: “This planned closing is in line with our strategy of using our resources in our most productive Saks Fifth Avenue stores. We regularly assess the productivity, profitability, and potential of each of our stores and may determine that a closing is appropriate from time to time.”

  • Tampa Saks Fifth Ave. to close doors in May

    NEW YORK — Retailer Saks Incorporated will be closing its Saks Fifth Avenue store located in the WestShore Plaza in Tampa, Fla., May 4.

    “This planned closing is in line with our strategy of using our resources in our most productive Saks Fifth Avenue stores. We regularly assess the productivity, profitability and potential of each of our stores and may determine that a closing is appropriate from time to time,” said Steve Sadove, chairman and CEO of Saks.

  • Phoenix Premium Outlets officially opens

    Chandler, Ariz. -- Simon Property Group announced Friday that it opened Phoenix Premium Outlets, the upscale outlet shopping center serving the Greater Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.   
     

  • Specialty apparel chain, Cache, names chief merchant

    Cache Inc., a specialty chain of women’s apparel stores, has announced that Daphne Pappas has joined the company as EVP, chief merchandise officer.

    Pappas brings more than 30 years of retail industry experience to Cache. For the past ten years, she served as VP general merchandising manager for Burberry America’s where she led the company’s women’s business. Prior to this, Pappas was the divisional merchandise manager of Juniors Sportswear at Macy’s East, a $150 million business in 82 stores. 

  • Saks Off 5th to open in Chandler, Ariz.

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will open its doors in Chandler, Ariz., on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

    The new 28,000-sq.-ft. store is located in Phoenix Premium Outlets, which is opening to the public that day. The new outlet center, owned and operated by Simon Property Group, is part of Wild Horse Pass, within the Gila River Indian Community, which includes hotels, a spa, casino, golf, an equestrian center, fine dining and more.
