  • Saks dresses up new Fla. store

    SARASOTA, Fla. — Saks Fifth Avenue has revealed more details about its new two-level, 80,000 sq. ft. store in The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla., which is presently under construction at the intersection of I-75 and University Parkway. The Mall at University Town Center is being co-developed by Taubman Centers and Benderson Development and is scheduled to open Oct. 16, 2014.

  • Saks launches updates website

    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue has redesigned the Saks.com homepage to include a longer, more fluid layout that more prominently highlights seasonal trends and most-wanted designers.

    New features on Saks.com include large-scale photography, improved navigation, easier access to the editorial area and product pages.

    NEW YORK — Saks Fifth Avenue has redesigned the Saks.com homepage to include a longer, more fluid layout that more prominently highlights seasonal trends and most-wanted designers. 

    The new site now features larg-scale photography, improved navigation, easier access to magazine-style features and enhanced product detail pages.

    Saks.com was last refreshed in July 2010 and the last complete redesign was in September 2007.

  • Fashion Outlets of Chicago announces tenant lineup

    New York -- Fashion Outlets of Chicago, a new mall due to open in August near O'Hare International Airport, on Tuesday announced its tenant list.

    The two-level, 530,000-sq.-ft. center will be anchored by a Bloomingdale's outlet, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and Forever 21.

  • Fashion Outlets of Chicago announces retail lineup

    Chicago -- AWE Talisman and Macerich announced Monday that Fashion Outlets of Chicago will open on August 1 in Rosemont, Ill., featuring Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and 120 additional brands.

    The two-level, 530,000-sq.-ft. outlet mall is the first fully enclosed, multi-level property with this level of amenities in the Chicago area in more than two decades, according to both companies.

  • Englewood Construction to launch four Midwestern projects

    Chicago -- Englewood Construction announced Wednesday that its retail group has begun work on four new projects, including three in the Chicago market and one in Columbus, Ohio.
     

  • Saks to close Stamford, Conn., store

    New York -- Saks Inc. announced Friday that it plans to close its Saks Fifth Avenue store located in Stamford Town Center in Stamford, Conn., in early 2014.

    The shuttering is part of the department store chain’s continued right-sizing strategy. “We routinely evaluate the productivity, profitability, and potential of each of our store locations,” said Steve Sadove, CEO. “This planned closing is consistent with our strategy of utilizing our resources in our most productive Saks Fifth Avenue stores.”

  • Saks supports Red Cross, local charities with new initiative

    NEW YORK — Saks has introduced its Saks Love Your Cause Initiative, which will give 5% of all registered purchases to the American Red Cross and select local organizations, during February.

    “Saks Fifth Avenue is committed to our local communities. We appreciate our customers’ charitable involvement and look forward to giving back locally for a second year with this exciting and newly implemented national program,” Steve Sadove, chairman and CEO, Saks Inc., said.
