Saks Fifth Avenue gets new chief marketer

NEW YORK —Saks announced that Denise Incandela, president Saks Direct and EVP of Saks Fifth Avenue, has been named chief marketing officer for Saks Fifth Avenue, a newly created role. She also will continue as president Saks Direct.


Chairman and CEO, Steve Sadove, noted, "Denise is a proven leader, a strategic thinker, and a great executor who has led the development and extraordinary growth of Saks Direct. Denise's experience in maximizing and capitalizing on customer insights, data analytics and digital marketing will be of tremendous value in driving more integrated marketing initiatives across our lines of business."


Incandela joined Saks Fifth Avenue in 1999 to spearhead the development of Saks Direct. She held the post of SVP business development and Saks Direct between 2002 and 2007 at which time she was promoted to president Saks Direct and group SVP of Saks Fifth Avenue. Incandela was promoted to president Saks Direct and EVP Saks Fifth Avenue in 2010. Prior to joining Saks, she was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she was a leader within its retail practice and served Saks Fifth Avenue as a client. Incandela received her B.S. in Finance from Boston College and a MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.


Incandela will continue to report to Sadove. Kimberly Grabel, SVP marketing, will report to Incandela. Terron Schaefer, EVP and chief creative officer, will continue in that role, reporting to Sadove.
