  • Simon to invest $1 billion in upgrade/expansion of key centers

    Indianapolis – Simon plans to expand several marquee properties in the U.S., investing approximately $1 billion annually to enhance its assets. The Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth, New Jersey, will submit plans for a major expansion, adding approximately 411,000-sq.-ft. of new outlet brands, dining and entertainment to its footprint of more than 200 stores and 1.3 million-sq.-ft.

  • Simon Property opens expansion of Las Vegas North Premium Outlets

    Las Vegas -- Simon Property Group, a global leader in retail real estate, announced that it has opened a 25-store expansion of Las Vegas North Premium Outlets.

    The center is now one of the largest in the country with 175 stores. The expansion features designer and name brands, including Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, AG Adriano Goldschmied, AllSaints, Bally, Canali, Catimini, CH Carolina Herrera, Citizen, Helmut Lang, John Varvatos, Rag & Bone, Under Armour, and Vera Bradley.

  • Saks’ Off 5th enters Canada with three store locations

    Toronto -- Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th has announced its first three store locations in Canada as it prepares to enter the Canadian marketplace next year.

    The retailer will open stores in Tanger Outlets, Kanata (a suburb of Ottawa); Outlet Collection at Niagara, Niagara-on-the-Lake; and Vaughan Mills, Vaughan (just north of Toronto) in spring 2016. The three stores are the first of up to 25 locations that Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th plans to open nationwide.

  • CBL Properties, Horizon Group expand Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta

    Chattanooga, Tenn. - CBL & Associates Properties Inc. and Horizon Group Properties Inc. have begun construction on the second phase of The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta. The 33,000-sq.-ft. expansion is scheduled to open before the 2015 holiday season and will bring several popular retailers to the center, including Gap Outlet and Banana Republic.

  • Saks names former footwear VP as chief merchant

    New York - Saks Fifth Avenue has named Tracy Margolies as chief merchant, effective May 11, 2015. Margolies will drive the strategic direction and performance of all buying activities for Saks, and will report to Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue.

    Margolies rejoins Saks Fifth Avenue after serving as senior VP and general merchandise manager, beauty, contemporary 5F, footwear and handbags at Bergdorf Goodman. Previously, Margolies spent seven years at Saks as VP, division merchandise manager, women's footwear.

  • Saks names new head merchant

    Tracy Margolies has returned to Saks Fifth Avenue to leading the department store retailer’s merchandising efforts.

    Margolies is no stranger to the Saks organization or upscale department store retailing. She spent the past two and a half years as a senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Bergdorf Goodman.
