  • Three retailers to open at Cherry Hill Mall this spring and summer

    Cherry Hill, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that its Cherry Hill Mall property, located in Cherry Hill, N.J., will welcome three new retailers this spring and summer.

    Lids Locker Room opened in March, and two shoe retailers, Traffic and Clarks, are slated to open this summer.

  • Michaels, chiropractor to open at Richmond Centre

    Richmond, Ky. -- Charlotte, N.C.-based Crosland LLC announced two new lease signings with Michaels and Chiro One at Richmond Centre, a regional shopping, entertainment and hospitality venue in Richmond, Ky.

    Michaels will open a 20,011-sq.-ft. store as a junior anchor tenant in October.

    Chiro One opened a 2,127-sq.-ft. clinic in February.

  • JCPenney helps underprivileged teens realize prom dreams

    PLANO, Texas -- JCPenney is giving underprivileged teens the chance to have their very own prom dress, while at the same time encouraging those more fortunate to give to a worthy cause. The company announced that from March 13 through April 2, customers can donate their gently worn prom dresses at one of more than 1,100 JCPenney stores nationwide.

  • Urban Retail named manager for Shawnee Mall and Brazos Mall

    Chicago -- Urban Retail Properties LLC said it has been awarded the contract by Five Mile Capital Partners LLC to provide management and leasing services for Shawnee Mall located in Shawnee, Okla., and Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson, Texas, effective immediately.

    Shawnee Mall is a one-level enclosed regional shopping center anchored by Dillard’s, Sears and J.C. Penney. The tenant line-up includes a newly remodeled Jones Theatres Movies Six, Old Navy, Ross Dress For Less, Buffalo Wild Wings and over 70 specialty stores.

  • Target falls short, but Macy’s, J.C. Penney and Kohl’s top estimates in February

    New York City -- Sales at Macy’s, J.C. Penney and Kohl’s surpassed analysts’ estimates in February amid gradually moderating temperatures and rising consumer confidence. However, analysts warned that a late Easter and rising gasoline prices could impact sales going forward.

    Confidence among U.S. consumers rose in February to the highest level in three years, according to a Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan index, as a drop in unemployment helped overcome concern over rising food and fuel costs.
