    The expansion of online fulfillment availability is giving retailers new avenues for selling goods via the Internet.

    The latest example of how non-traditional e-commerce opportunities are popping up is a just-launched partnership between Food Network and Instacart. The lifestyle network/website does directly sell a variety of cooking-related products and utensils online, but until now has not been involved in the sale of food items.

  • Jet.com pilots grocery delivery

    Online retailer—and would-be rival to Amazon— Jet.com is continuing to spread its wings. The retailer is testing a home delivery service for fresh groceries in certain markets in the metro areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. According to an email sent to some customers, produce delivery will take one to two days, with no fee for orders of $35 or more.
  • Grocer takes extra steps for customer experience

    Roche Bros. may only operate 19 local stores, but still thinks big when it comes to meeting customer demand wherever it exists. The Massachusettes-based chain has selected Unata to build an enhanced e-commerce and omnichannel shopping experience. The new e-commerce platform will be available at 18 of its Roche Bros. and Sudbury Farms stores, which will feature a home delivery option in eastern and central Massachusetts and a curbside pickup option at a growing number of locations.

    Online delivery service Instacart is launching its first expansion of 2016 – and it’s a big one.

    Instacart is now offering deliveries in as little as one hour from Whole Foods Market, Gelson’s Market, Stater Bros. Markets, Ralphs, Smart & Final, Costco (no membership needed), Petco, and H Mart to residents of Orange County, California. Whole Foods will offer delivery via Instacart at prices that are the same as shoppers find in-stores.
