    The age old question of what to get the person who has everything has finally been answered, and a Walmart gift card appears to be the ultimate solution for the perplexed gift-giver. That’s according to the gift card exchange website www.giftcardrescue.com and survey involving 6,000 people who created gift card wish lists on its site since the beginning of the year.

"We're piloting the removal of up to 40% of the space dedicated to kitchen showrooms," said Craig Menear, Home Depot's EVP merchandising, during the company's recent investor and analyst conference.

  • Home Depot launches online DIY community

    Atlanta-based Home Depot announced it has launched a new online community designed as a place where do-it-yourselfers can discuss home improvement projects and share their expertise with each other.

  • Home Depot to offer free shipping for online orders

    Atlanta -- For the first time ever, Home Depot will offer free shipping on 90,000 of the 100,000 items it offers online beginning on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, and running through Monday. Eligible items will be shipped for free via standard ground shipping.

    "We know shipping is a large influence on where customers shop," said Hal Lawton, president of e-commerce and The Home Depot. "We made some improvements and changes to the site over the last year and we thought this would be a great way to attract new customers to site."

  • Hhgregg opens Florida, Pennsylvania stores

    Naples, Fla. -- Beachwood, Ohio-based Developers Diversified Realty Corp. said that Hhgregg has joined Carillon Place, a 283,238-sq.-ft. community center in Naples, Fla., and Peach Street Square, a 676,245-sq.-ft. shopping center in Erie, Pa.

    Joining national tenants Walmart Neighborhood Market, Bealls Outlet, T.J.Maxx, Ross Dress for Less and OfficeMax, Hhgregg opened a 36,459-sq.-ft. store at Carillon Place.

    The 28,152-sq.-ft. Hhgregg store at Peach Street Square joins Lowe's, Home Depot, Kohl's, Cinemark and PetSmart.
