  • DSW to open at Capital City Mall

    Harrisburg, Pa. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust said that DSW will open a 17,400-sq.-ft. store at Capital City Mall in Camp Hill, Pa.

    To accommodate the footwear and accessories retailer, PREIT said that 5,000 sq. ft. of retail space is being added to the mall. A 2013 opening for DSW is anticipated.

  • Children's Place profit slides 19%, beats Street

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children's Place reported Thursday that net income for the first quarter slid 19% to $23.6 million from $29.1 million last year, but beat Wall Street forecasts and prompted the retailer to raise the low end of its full-year outlook.

    Revenue rose 2% to $438.5 million from $430.8 million, widely missing Wall Street’s expected $447.7 million in revenue, and same-store sales dipped 0.7%.
     

  • Search for Children's Place CFO ends with former Limited exec

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — More than a year after The Children's Place Retail Stores began its search for a new chief financial officer, following the departure of EVP finance and adminstration, Susan Riley, the company has named Steven Baginski as CFO. He will report to Eric Bauer, COO. 

  • The Children's Place names new CFO

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children’s Place Retail Stores announced Wednesday it has named Steven Baginski to the position of CFO, reporting to COO Eric Bauer.

    Baginski spent eight years with Limited Brands, most recently as senior VP corporate finance.
     

  • La Palmera announces five new retailers

    Corpus Christi, Texas -- Trademark Property Group announced that its La Palmera property in Corpus Christi, Texas, has five new stores planning to open by late spring.

    Construction is underway on White House | Black Market (3,453 sq. ft.), Soma Intimates (2,313 sq. ft); Bebe (4,885 sq. ft.); Traffic Shoes (1,105 sq. ft.); and Papaya (6,350 sq. ft.).

    The Children’s Place has opened a 3,467-sq.-ft new location by Champs, and construction is underway on a Payless ShoeSource location (3,360 sq. ft.), adjacent to the new Papaya.

  • Disney celebrates 25 years

    PASADENA, Calif. — On March 28, Disney Store will celebrate its 25th anniversary by giving the first 250 guests at each location silver commemorative Mickey Mouse ears. In addition, Disney Store will host a variety of family fun activities throughout the day, including Disney trivia, games, a dance party and more. As an added bonus, guests will receive 25% off purchases made in store and online at DisneyStore.com for the entire day.

  • Retailers at River Chase Shopping Center celebrate openings

    Covington, La. -- Stirling Property Group said that River Chase Shopping Center, in Covington, La., is celebrating the openings of several national retailers in the development’s newest phase. 

    The first openings are scheduled to occur over the next few weeks with others to open this summer.

  • Warm weather cools comps at Children's Place

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — The Children's Place Retail Stores is the latest retailer to report fourth-quarter sales that were negatively impacted by the unseasonably warm weather this winter. The company said that comparable-store sales for the quarter declined 2.7%, and net sales were up only slightly (0.9%) to $457.5 million from $453.2 million for the fourth quarter of 2010. 

    Children's Place also reported a drop in income from continuing operations after tax from $32.7 million, or $1.24 per diluted share, to $24.2 million, or 97 cents per diluted share.
