  • Walgreens lures Latinos with expanded products line

    HOUSTON — Walgreens and Televisa Consumer Products on Friday announced an initiative to engage Hispanic customers and gain additional insight into the Hispanic community through the introduction of TCP's health and wellness products.

  • Children's Place CFO resigns, replaced by former Talbots COO

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc. reported Monday that its CFO Steven Baginski has resigned the company, effective immediately.

    According to the retailer, Baginski is leaving to pursue other interests.

    Former COO and CFO of The Talbots Inc., Michael Scarpa, has been named Baginski’s successor, effective Dec. 3.  

    Scarpa also worked at Liz Claiborne Inc. for 25 years.
     

  • The Children's Place appoints new EVP & CFO

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — The Children's Place has appointed Michael Scarpa as its new EVP and CFO, effective Dec. 3. Scarpa replaces Steven Baginski, who will be leaving the company, effective immediately, to pursue other interests. He will report to Jane Elfers, president and CEO.

    Secaucus, N.J. — The Children's Place Retail Stores has named Tricia Griffith to the company's board of directors.

  • DSW to open at River Forest Town Center

    River Forest, Ill. -- Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Mid-America Asset Management said that DSW has signed a lease for 28,000 sq. ft. at River Forest Town Center in Chicago’s west suburbs.

    The shoe retailer is taking space vacated by Linens ‘n Things and plans to open in fall 2012 as a new anchor joining The Children’s Place, The Loft, Chico’s, Whole Foods, Panera Bread, Petco and Walgreens.   
     

  • Crazy 8 to open at Independence Mall

    Wilmington, N.C. -- Madison Marquette Retail Services, which leases and manages Independence Mall – in Wilmington, N.C. – on behalf of owner Centro Properties Group, said that Gymboree Corp.’s Crazy 8 brand will open a new store at the mall this fall.

    The 2,465-sq.-ft. store will join Aeropostale, The Children’s Place, Gymboree and Justice in catering to Independence Mall’s teen, tween and children’s clothing shoppers.
     

  • Children’s Place to open at Eastwood Mall

    Niles, Ohio -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. said that The Children’s Place will open a new store in the Dillard’s Concourse of Eastwood Mall, in Niles, Ohio.

    The new store is slated to open November 2012 in more than 3,500 sq. ft. of space.  

  • The Children’s Place to open in Arab Gulf States

    Secaucus, N.J. -- The Children’s Place announced that it has signed a 10-year franchise agreement with Apparel Group to open stores in the Arab Gulf States of United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. The first stores are scheduled to open in the UAE in September in Dubai and Sharjah.
