  • CBL sells Lakeshore Mall

    Atlanta — CBL & Associates Properties has closed the sale of Lakeshore Mall to a private investor for $14 million. JLL brokered the transaction.

    Belk, Bealls, Kmart, J.C. Penney and Carmike Cinema anchor the 490,086-sq.-ft. retail center in Sebring, Florida. A nearby Sears is a shadow anchor.

    With its 95% occupancy rate, Lakeshore Mall anchors the retail hub that serves central Florida along U.S. Highway 27, the major north-south thoroughfare. Traffic counts average about 38,500 vehicles per day.

     

  • RMC wins new leasing assignments in South Florida

    Tampa, Fla.RMC Property Group has earned two exclusive leasing assignments on Florida’s southern West Coast.

    First is Fountain Court, a 180,420-sq.-ft. community shopping center in Bradenton’s Highway 64 retail corridor near the beaches and Anna Maria Island. Anchor tenants include Bealls Department Store and Planet Fitness.

    Irvine, Calif. – Beall’s has selected replenishment and profiling solutions from JustEnough Software Corporation, a provider of demand management solutions for retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses worldwide.

    Beall’s utilizes existing legacy systems, so delivering strong, focused product presentations and excellent in-stocks required a high inventory investment and was very time consuming.

  • Bealls deploys new tech to improve customer service

    Bealls has enlisted JustEnough Software Corporation, a leading provider of demand management solutions for retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses worldwide, to improve customer service.

    Bealls will be leveraging the new technology to streamline its inventory and be able to turnaround stock quickly to meet its customers’ needs.

  • Walmart CEO Bill Simon among senior execs added to NRF board

    Walmart CEO Bill Simon was among a group of six senior excutives added to the National Retail Federations board of directors.

    Simon will be joined by Beall’s CEO Steve Knopik, J.C. Penney CEO Myron Ullman, Tractor Supply CEO Greg Sandfort, SAP SVP Lori Mitchell-Kell and Utah Retail Merchants Association president Dave Davis.

    The retailers were elected to the board Sunday, the opening day of NRF’s 103rd Annual Convention and EXPO. They will serve three-year terms.

  • Bealls deploys new solution to grow e-commerce

    EVERETT, Wash. — Bealls is looking to Fluke Networks to help it address network issues and monitor the performance of its applications in the wake of the retailer's growing e-commerce business.

    Fluke's Visual TruView solution will give the retailer comprehensive visibility into all key systems and applications across more than 500 network locations, enabling immediate remediation of performance issues and minimizing the impact on its 13,000 employees, customers and sales.

  • Beall’s improves POS performance and positions itself for future growth with SAP

    Bradenton, Fla. -- Beall’s Inc. has replaced legacy point-of-sale software and hardware at 450 Beall’s Outlet and Burke’s Outlet stores with the latest version of  SAP’s POS application (POS 2.3 system).

  • Beall’s exec joins Publix board

    LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix has elected Beall’s CEO Steve Knopik to its board of directors.

    “We are pleased to have Steve join the Publix board,” said Publix chairman of the board Charlie Jenkins Jr. “His strong retail and financial background and commitment to the community will make him a strong addition to our board.”
