  • Square One mall unveils $60-million wing, launches $480-million expansion

    Mississauga, Ontario -- Canadian mall Square One has opened its newly renovated and expanded $60-million North side wing, featuring new stores and enhanced amenities and services in 78,000 sq. ft. The opening marks the completion of the second phase in Square One's multi-phase redevelopment, which will increase retail space to 2.1 million sq. ft. by 2016 and represents a total investment of more than $480 million.  
  • 11 Main debuts mobile app

    San Mateo, Calif. -– 11 Main Inc., the U.S. online shopping platform operated by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Inc., has launched a mobile app optimized for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android, with an iPad version coming later in the year. The mobile applications are optimized for each platform and offer 11 Main’s online shopping experience.   
  • Newk’s Eatery launches online ordering

    Jackson, Miss. –- Newk’s Eatery’s is launching a new online ordering platform. After the mid-November debut of Newk’s online ordering program, to be implemented nationwide by year’s end, online customers will be able to pick up orders at Newk’s “Grab N’ Go” takeout entrances.    
  • Report: Alibaba open to working with PayPal

    Hangzhou, China -- Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., which previously said it is in discussions with Apple about working with its Apple Pay digital payment service, is now reportedly also open to working with EBay’s PayPal digital payment service.  
  • Walmart stretching out Black Friday to five days

    Bentonville, Ark. -- Following the lead of some other retailers, Walmart is spreading out Black Friday beyond the day after Thanksgiving.
