The retailer launched the Demandware Digital Store Solution in nearly 180 BCBGMAXAZRIA U.S. stores in just three months to equip store associates with the solution in time for the holiday shopping season.

  • Demandware buys Tomax for $75 million, enters store arena

    Burlington, Mass. – Demandware Inc. has agreed to expand into in-store retail sales by acquiring Tomax, an enterprise cloud software company that provides an integrated solution for retail POS and store operations. Total purchase price will be about $75 million, including $60 million in cash and $15 million in contingent retention-based payments.

    Burlington, Mass. -- Demandware said that Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is using Demandware Commerce to power global expansion across Asia. The retailer recently launched 10 new e-commerce sites for its Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister brands with the Demandware platform, serving China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. All of the sites are mobile-optimized through responsive web design.

    BURLINGTON, Mass. - Demandware, a provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, announced that Quiksilver has expanded its relationship with Demandware to roll out the cloud platform on a global scale. The company made the switch from an on-premise solution for improved time to market and to provide a consistent customer experience across multiple brands and geographies, while driving growth.

      San Francisco – Although email is at the point it’s often considered a “legacy” technology, a slight majority of consumers still prefer it for holiday communication from retailers. According to a new consumer survey from Salesforce, 53% of respondents said that email is their preferred communication channel during the holidays.  
  • Black Friday beats Thanksgiving on social media

    Move over pumpkin pie: Black Friday fervor seemed to stir up more conversations on social media than the Thanksgiving holiday itself.

    According to Salesforce.com, social media posts about Black Friday shopping numbered 2.7 million. Roughly 278,000 posts were stamped with the hashtag "#blackfriday" and another 8,000 were labeled "#deals," vs. just 85,000 with "#Thanksgiving."

    There were also about 1.84 million holiday shopping posts on Thanksgiving Day, and about 719,000 posts the day before Thanksgiving.

  • Salesforce: Holiday social posts peaked on Black Friday

    San Francisco – Social media posts around holiday shopping peaked on Black Friday (Nov. 28) at 2.7 million. According to data from Salesforce, there were also about 1.84 million holiday shopping posts on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27), and about 719,000 posts the day before Thanksgiving (Nov. 26).
