  • Victoria’s Secret taps former Nike exec as CEO

    L Brands subsidiary Victoria’s Secret has named a veteran of the specialty and intimate apparel verticals as its new CEO.

    Jan Singer, who served as CEO of Spanx from June 2014 – March 2016, is now CEO of Victoria’s Secret. Previously, she held corporate VP positions at Nike from February 2004 – June 2014.

  • American Eagle Outfitters taps Kate Spade exec to head up marketing

    American Eagle Outfitters announced that Kyle Andrew has been appointed executive VP, chief marketing officer, effective June 6.   Andrew served as senior VP, brand director for Kate Spade Saturday from 2013 through 2015. She joined the company in 2008 as head of global brand marketing and played an integral role in the re-positioning of the Kate Spade brand from a $100 million handbag company to a billion dollar global lifestyle brand.

  • Target names new top merchant, creates chief digital officer role

    Target on Tuesday announced the hire of Mark Tritton as EVP and chief merchandising officer. In this role, Tritton will oversee enterprise buying, product design and development, sourcing, visual merchandising strategy and merchandising transformation and operations for the retailer.
  • Gordmans grabs Bon Ton ops exec

    Veteran Bon-Ton Stores executive Michael Ricart has joined value-priced department store chain Gordman’s Stores as senior vice president of stores.

  • C-Suite: Steve Tanger on the outlook for outlet centers

    Tanger Factory Outlet Centers operates, owns or has an ownership interest in 42 shopping centers nationwide that encompass 14.3 million square feet. The company’s centers are home to more than 3,000 stores operated by 470 different retailers, which affords Tanger President and CEO Steve Tanger a unique vantage point on the retail industry. He spoke recently with Chain Store Age about the outlet shopping industry his father pioneered 35 years ago.

  • Tiffany on hunt for new CFO

    The chief financial officer of Tiffany & Co. is stepping down. The high-end jeweler disclosed in a regulatary filing that CFO Ralph Nicolette is resigning, effective May 20, 2016. Nicolette, who was appointed to the position In April 2014, is leaving to become CFO of consumer products company Newell Brands Inc. (Newell was formerly known as Newell Rubbermaid.) Prior to Tiffany, Nicolette was CFO of Cigna Corp., and Alberto Culver.
  • Bon-Ton exec joins Gordmans’ management team

    Gordmans Stores has appointed Michael F. Ricart senior VP stores, effective May 9, 2016. Ricart joins Gordmans from Bon-Ton Stores Inc. where he was senior VP stores since 2012. He the company in 1999 as a regional VP stores and has held several roles of increasing responsibility during his 16 years tenure. Prior to Bon-Ton Stores, he held multiple positions in buying and store operations at Macy's.
