  • Kohl's has lots in store for 2012

    NEW YORK — Kohl’s Department Stores has opened eight new stores, bringing approximately 1,000 new jobs nationwide. The company now operates 1,134 stores in 49 states.

    The new stores are located in seven states, including Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Of the eight locations, seven are small format stores with approximately 64,000 sq. ft. or less of retail space, providing greater real estate flexibility.

  • Target adding expanded food layout to 230 stores

    New York -- Target Corp. will complete remodels at more than 100 general merchandise Target stores by March 25. The locations will be the first of three cycles of remodels for Target this year. In total, the chain expects to remodel 230 general merchandise Target stores to incorporate the expanded fresh food layout in 2012.

  • DB Shoes, Bright Now! Dental to open at Alameda South Shore Center

    Alameda, Calif. -- Jamestown announced that DB Shoes and Bright Now! Dental have signed new leases at Alameda South Shore Center, a 594,000-sq.-ft., open-air retail center located in the East Bay community of Alameda, Calif.

    DB Shoes has leased a 10,635-sq.-ft. retail space along the Park Street corridor. The new location is scheduled to open in April 2012.

    Additionally, Bright Now! Dental, part of Smile Brands Inc., secured a 10-year, 3,805-sq.-ft. lease. The office is scheduled to open in May 2012.

  • MLG Capital names principal

    Milwaukee -- MLG Capital said Tuesday that Craig Lashley has been promoted to principal of the firm.

    Lashley is currently VP Investments. In his role, he concentrates on the acquisition of new properties and asset management of MLG's existing real estate investment portfolio, which includes 26 assets encompassing approximately 2.5 million sq. ft.
     

  • REI future looks bright in Sunshine State

    SEATTLE — Recreational Equipment Inc. will make its Florida debut in the spring of 2013 with the opening a a store in Jacksonville, Fla. The company also announced that it will open its eighth store in Texas in the city of San Antonio in the fall of 2012.

    The company's first Florida store in Jacksonville will occupy nearly 23,400 sq. ft. and will be located at The Markets at Town Center. The San Antonio location will occupy 27,500 sq. ft. 

  • Mid-America Real Estate closes sale of Stone Creek Towne Center

    Cincinnati -- Mid-America Real Estate Corp.’s Investments Sales Group announced the recent sale of Stone Creek Towne Center located in Cincinnati.

    The property was purchased by Oakbrook, Ill.-based Inland Real Estate for $36 million from a joint venture between Brandicorp and Trinity Development Co.

  • Mid-America Real Estate appoints new Michigan principal

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Chicago-based Mid-America Real Estate Group announced the appointment of Cynthia J. Kratchman as a new principal at its Detroit-based division Mid-America Real Estate-Michigan Inc.

    Kratchman joins the firm with more than 20 years of retail brokerage experience in Michigan, and will be primarily responsible for tenant representation, surplus disposition and high profile listings.

    Previously, she was a broker with Landmark Commercial Real Estate Services.
     

  • White House | Black Market to open at The Village at Towne Centre

    Fredericksburg, Va. -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. announced that White House | Black Market will open a new store at its The Village at Towne Centre property near Fredericksburg, Va.

    The 4,000+-sq.-ft. store is slated to open spring 2012 across from Coldwater Creek.
