  • Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree to open at Cumberland Crossing

    Millville, N.J. -- Fameco Real Estate, LP said that Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree have signed leases at Cumberland Crossing, located in Millville, N.J., bringing the shopping center to nearly 90% leased.

    Cumberland Crossing is a 258,414-sq.-ft. community center anchored by Walmart. Hobby Lobby signed a lease for 58,822 sq. ft. and Dollar Tree signed a lease for 12,000 sq. ft.
     

  • Mid-America signs several large leases across Great Lakes region

    Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. -- Mid-America Asset Management announced that among the new leases the firm has signed in July and August, there were several large transactions spread across Chicagoland, Southeast Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana.

    In Aurora, Ill., home furnishings retailer Premier Furniture Outlet leased 38,975 sq. ft. at Aurora Marketplace, opening in September 1. Anchors include Sports Authority and Hobby Lobby.  
     

  • Report: Best Buy reviewing British operations

    New York City -- Best Buy Co. is reviewing its 11 stores in the United Kingdom, according to the Sunday Express.

    The chain operates the stores in a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse Group Plc. Best Buy is in talks with its shareholders about all possible options for its British stores, the newspaper said.
     

  • Citi Trends to open two Pa., locations

    New York City -- Centro Properties Group US announced the recent lease executions of two Citi Trends locations. A 13,500-sq.-ft. lease has been executed at Lehigh Shopping Center, in Bethlehem, Pa., and a 12,000-sq.-ft. location will open at Kline Plaza, located in Harrisburg, Pa.

    Both Lehigh Shopping Center and Kline Plaza are owned by Centro Properties, based in New York City.
     

  • Two new leases signed at Shoppes at Fairhope Village

    Fairhope, Ala. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in Fairhope, Ala., to two new tenants.

    Fairhope Cosmetic Dentistry leased 2,000 sq. ft. of medical office space and opened in August. Additionally, Roy Rose Jewelry has leased 2,000 sq. ft. of retail space and is slated to open in the middle of September.

    The 84,740-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Publix Super Market alongside national retailers such as Merle Norman and Iberia Bank.
     

  • Organic market to open at Rockville Town Square

    Rockville, Md. -- Federal Realty Investment Trust announced that Ellwood Thompson’s has finalized a lease to open a local, organic market at Rockville Town Square in Rockville, Md.

    The new grocer will operate under the name Dawson’s Market and the store is slated to open spring 2012.

    Dawson’s Market at Rockville Town Square will house approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of local and organic produce, meats, cheeses, prepared foods and baked goods.
     

  • Planet Fitness to unveil Manhattan flagship

    New York City -- Planet Fitness said Wednesday that it will open a Manhattan flagship location in Chelsea, at 158 West 27th Street, and is slated to open in early 2012.

    The 20,000-sq.-ft. center will be housed at Himmel + Meringoff Properties’ 12-story, 117,000-sq.-ft. office building which has recently undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation.

    Planet Fitness currently operates its only New York City fitness center in Harlem on 125th Street.

     

  • 1800mattress.com leases 2,500 sq. ft. in Brooklyn

    New York City -- Winick Realty Group announced that 1800mattress.com has leased its third Brooklyn location at 2417 Flatbush Avenue, one block from Kings Plaza in the Flatbush -- Ditmas Park neighborhood.

    The 2,500-sq.-ft. store was formerly home to Jennifer Convertibles.

    The new location is the retailer’s 52nd in the northeast from Virginia to New Hampshire.
