  • New Restoration Hardware store format combines retail with hospitality

    Restoration Hardware’s (RH) new store in Chicago features its signature blend of upscale home furnishings amid an opulent backdrop but adds a new twist: dining.

    The company’s new RH Gallery, located in the 101-year-old Three Arts Club building on the city’s Gold Coast, marks the brand’s initial foray into hospitality with a restaurant by famed Chicago restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff.

    Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on Oct. 10. The 18,000-sq.-ft.store is located in Tanglewood Pavilions.

    The opening is part of the retailer’s 2015 expansion program, totaling approximately 70 new locations during the year.

  • Ross Dress for Less opens 274th California store Oct. 10

    Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in Redlands, California on Oct. 10. The 24,000-sq.-ft. relocation is in Mountain Grove at Citrus Plaza, and is being moved from its previous location at Tri-City Center.

    With this location, Ross will operate 274 stores in its largest state. The opening is part of the retailer’s 2015 expansion program, totaling approximately 70 new locations during the year.

  • J.Crew Mercantile to open first-to-market store in Charlotte, N.C.

    Charlotte, N.C. -- EDENS announced that J.Crew Mercantile will be joining Park Road Shopping Center located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This location will be the first in the Charlotte market and is expected to open in early 2016.

    J.Crew launched J.Crew Mercantile earlier this year, featuring a collection of value-driven merchandise with the brand's classic signature style.

    Target is showing off an updated look at its redone store in Minnetonka, Minn.

    The remodeled SuperTarget is serving as a testing ground overall for store updates with bolder, more playful signage, new displays and various new concepts in the grocery area.

    The chain is also putting the spotlight on its “Made to Matter—Handpicked by Target” collection of healthy-living brands,  with more prominent signs on the ends of aisles.

  • Brixmor names Mark Salma new VP of redevelopment

    New York -- Brixmor Property Group announced commercial real estate professional Mark Salma has joined the company as VP of redevelopment. In his role, Salma will focus on Brixmor’s anchor space repositioning projects in the North region with the goal of driving higher sales, traffic and small shop leasing at the property level.

  • Haggen finds another buyer for its stores

    Gelson's Markets is joining Smart & Final on the acquisition of some Haggen properties in Southern California.

    Gelson's, a regional supermarket chain operating in Southern California, announced it is bidding on eight Haggen locations across five counties: Los Angeles County (Santa Monica), Orange County (Laguna Beach, Ladera Ranch), Riverside County (Rancho Mirage), San Diego County (Carlsbad, Del Mar, Pacific Beach) and Ventura County (Thousand Oaks).
