  • Baker Katz acquires former Hollywood Video building

    Houston -- Houston-based commercial real estate brokerage Baker Katz, an X Team partner, announced that it has acquired a former Hollywood Video building at Grogan’s Mill and Sawdust in The Woodlands, Texas. 

    As part of an investment fund dedicated to real estate development, acquisition and ownership, Baker Katz purchased the 7,500-sq.-ft. building that is located near the area’s newest Wal-Mart Supercenter in The Woodlands, and plans to renovate and expand the building, subdivide it and re-lease the new spaces to individual tenants.

    College Station, Texas -- Hobby Town USA recently opened a new 2,480-sq.-ft. store at Central Station, located in College Station, Texas.

    Central Station is owned by New York City-based Centro Properties Group.

  • Lord & Taylor to open first new store in a decade

    Cleveland -- Lord & Taylor and Forest City Enterprises on Friday announced that Lord & Taylor will open a new, 80,000-sq.-ft. store to anchor Westchester's Ridge Hill, Forest City's outdoor retail/mixed-use development, currently under construction in Yonkers, N.Y. This will be the first new, full-line Lord & Taylor to open since 2001.

    The new location will showcase the retailer's latest store design and will offer a mix of the best fashion, accessories, beauty and fragrance brands, as well as gifts and home accessories.

  • The District at Tustin Legacy wins waste reduction award

    Orange County, Calif. -- The District at Tustin Legacy, a 1 million-sq.-ft. lifestyle and entertainment center located in Orange County, Calif., has been awarded the 2010 CalRecycle Waste Reduction Award for being a regional leader in recycling and waste reduction. 

  • SRS Real Estate names lease admin exec

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners announced it has appointed Stan Heller as executive VP of its lease administration service line.

    In his new role, Heller will focus on helping the lease restructure and renewal team in lowering client occupancy costs, as well as pursuing new business for the company. The addition of Heller comes on the heels of a strategic move to grow the company’s lease administrative presence in the industry.

  • Nadeau to open in Greenwich Village

    New York City -- Robert K. Futterman & Associates said it has completed a 7,800-sq.-ft. retail lease with Nadeau at 57 East 11th St. in New York City’s Greenwich Village.

    The furniture retailer will occupy a combined 4,300 sq. ft. on the ground floor and 3,500 sq. ft. in the basement and is scheduled to open in first quarter 2011. This will be the first New York City location for the brand.

    Nadeau is headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif., and currently has 15 locations nationwide.

  • Dollar Tree to open at Summerfield Crossing Plaza

    Apollo Beach, Fla. -- Tampa, Fla.-based RMC Property Management Group announced that Dollar Tree will open a new 9,500-sq.-ft. store at Summerfield Crossing Plaza, located in Apollo Beach, Fla.

    The Dollar Tree Store will be constructed adjacent to a new 80,000-sq.-ft. Bealls department store.

    Dollar Tree is slated to open April 2011.
