  • J.C. Penney’s new Dallas store reflects chain’s commitment to energy

    Dallas -- J.C. Penney Co. will unveil the newest iteration of its store model with the opening of its new Dallas store in the TimberCreek Crossing shopping center on Sept. 30.

    The 105,000-sq.-ft. single-level store provides an assortment of services under one roof, including dedicated in-store environments for MNG by Mango and a 1,700-sq.-ft. Sephora shop.

  • Lineup of 20 new-to-market retailers to debut at City Creek Center

    Salt Lake City -- Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based shopping center owner Taubman Centers announced Tuesday the first 20 retailers – all new to the market and most new to Utah – coming to City Creek Center, the 700,000-sq.-ft. retail component of mixed-used development City Creek in downtown Salt Lake City.

  • BJ's opens new wholesale club in Massachusetts

    Northborough, Mass. -- BJ's Wholesale Club said Tuesday it has opened its newest Massachusetts Club location at Northborough Crossing 6102 Shops Way in Northborough, Mass.

    The 120,000-sq-ft. store replaces a 23-year-old BJ's Wholesale Club nearby and adds services such as a gas station, full-service delicatessen, enhanced tire center and integrated liquor shop.
     

  • Retailer shifts occur on Madison Avenue

    New York City -- A series of retailer moves on Madison Avenue has allowed for expansion and improved adjacencies in one of Manhattan’s luxury shopping meccas.

    According to Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group, Italian luxury sportswear retailer Paul & Shark has opened in the Hartz Mountain Building at 667 Madison Avenue, replacing Michael Kors. In turn, Michael Kors will move to the current Steuben store and open a new flagship when the glassmaker departs the space.

  • Uniqlo Pop-Ups

    Uniqlo is popping-up all over Manhattan. As the prelude to the opening of its Fifth Avenue global flagship in October, the Japanese apparel retailer opened four temporary “Brand Shops” around the city. Each location is cleverly designed and smartly outfitted.

  • Destination Maternity opens in South Korea

    Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity Corp. announced the opening of two namesake stores and two shop-in-shops in South Korea.

    The freestanding locations, in the cities of Koyang and DaeJeon, are the chain’s first stores in South Korea and were opened by partner Agabang & Co.

  • Marcus & Millichap announces promotion

    Philadelphia -- Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services said that it has promoted Mark E. Taylor to first VP investments.

    Most recently, Taylor held the title of VP investments. He specializes in the sale of retail shopping centers and net-leased property investment real estate.

  • Topshop opens in Chicago

    New York City -- British apparel retailer Acadia Group opened its second Topshop/Topman location in the United States, a three-level store on Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue. The space, which boasts some 35,000 sq. ft. of selling space, was previously was occupied by a Borders store.

    Topshop will debut its third U.S. location, in Las Vegas, in March 2012.
