  • Five Guys Burgers and Fries to open at Westwood Village

    Magnolia, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.- based Regency Centers said it has leased restaurant space in Magnolia, Texas, at Westwood Village to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

    Five Guys leased 3,127 sq. ft., bringing the center to 97% leased. The restaurant is now open for business.

    Westwood Village is a 310,000-sq.-ft. community center anchored by Target, Ross Dress For Less, and T.J. Maxx.

  • Westheimer Crossing Shopping Center changes hands

    Houston -- Grubb & Ellis Co. said Wednesday that it represented Gulf Coast Commercial Group in the sale of Westheimer Crossing Shopping Center, a 94,053-sq.-ft. retail center in Houston.

    Delta Troy Interests Ltd. purchased the property for an undisclosed price.  The property was approximately 90% occupied at the time of sale to multiple tenants, including DSW, REI and Michaels Stores.

  • Planet Fitness to open at Midway Crossing

    Elyria, Ohio -- Centro Properties Group announced that a 21,936-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Planet Fitness at Midway Crossing, located in Elyria, Ohio.

    New York City-based Centro owns Midway Crossing.

  • Mrs. Green's officially confirms purchase of A&P Superfresh stores

    SCARSDALE, N.Y. — Natural food retailer Mrs. Green's Natural Market confirmed its acquisition of seven Superfresh grocery locations in Maryland and one Superfresh location in Washington, D.C., from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co.

  • REI to make South Carolina debut

    Greenville, S.C. -- Charlotte, N.C.-based The Chambers Group, an X Team partner, said it has completed a lease for the first REI in South Carolina.

    The outdoor equipment retailer will join The Point shopping center, a Whole Foods-anchored property located in Greenville, S.C., and owned by Beachwood, Ohio-based Developers Diversified Realty.

    REI will occupy 22,000 sq. ft. of a former Circuit City space.
     

  • Cypress Equities hires leasing manager

    Dallas -- Cypress Equities Cos. said it has expanded its leasing team with the addition of Giancarlo “GC” Carriero, who joins the firm as leasing manager.

    Carriero is responsible for developing and leveraging relationships with potential tenants and facilitating leasing solutions for Cypress’ nationwide retail and mixed-use projects. 

    He was previously leasing representative for General Growth Properties.
     

  • Baker Katz acquires Four Corners Shopping Center

    Tomball, Texas -- Houston-based commercial real estate brokerage Baker Katz said it has acquired the Four Corners Shopping Center in Tomball, Texas.

    Baker Katz purchased the 120,000-sq.-ft. center through an investment fund dedicated to real estate development, acquisition and ownership. The center holds the last remaining big-box vacancy in Tomball, a 45,000-sq.-ft. former Kroger space. Baker Katz plans to begin a major renovation on the center later this year and will look to re-lease the space.

  • Asian Fusion Restaurant to open in Williamsburg

    Brooklyn, N.Y. -- Winick Realty Group announced that Fushimi, an Asian fusion restaurant, will open its third New York City location, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

    The restaurant leased 7,200 sq. ft. and is set to open in the next few months.
