    New York -- Saks Fifth Avenue is introducing a new creative campaign called “Look” that the retailer said will focus on its reputation as a place of discovery and be delivered to consumers via media including advertising, catalogs, shopping bags, direct mail, press initiatives, in-store events, digital marketing, social media and visual displays.

  • Bounty hits a home run with Cincinnati Reds

    CINCINNATI — Bounty Select-A-Size has teamed up with the Cincinnati Reds as part of a promotional campaign. The company will have 40 Bounty Clean Crew members on hand at every Reds home game to help clean up messes around the park while touting the efficacy of its paper towels to baseball fans.

  • Microsoft to open Windows in-store shops in Best Buy

    Redmond, Wash. -- Microsoft Corp. on Thursday announced that it plans to open 500 “Windows Store” shops in 500 Best Buy stores across the country and in more than 100 Best Buy and Future Shop locations in Canada. The roll out will launch in late June, lasting through September.

    The in-store shops will sell exclusively Windows-based tablets and computers and other Microsoft products, with support from dedicated staff, in an interactive environment.  

  • RadioShack continues courting younger customers

    FORT WORTH, Texas — RadioShack continues courting younger customers, this time by hosting an appearance at one of its Manhattan stores by Muve Music-featured R&B artist Fantasia.  

    Fantasia is best known for winning the third season of American Idol. She is also a Grammy Award winner.

  • Kate Spade partners with eBay on four interactive storefront pop-ups

    New York -- Kate Spade Saturday, a new division of Kate Spade, has partnered with eBay Inc. to open four pop-up storefronts with shoppable windows across downtown Manhattan.

    The format will consist of a large interactive screen, open for business 24 hours a day. Shoppers can browse and select from among some 30 products and checkout via the screen, with the product delivered in approximately one hour, or scheduled within the week. The pop-ups will be open from  June 8 through July 7.

  • Whole Foods Market opens in Detroit

    Detroit -- Whole Foods Market on Wednesday is scheduled to open a 21,506-sq.-ft. store in Detroit, in the city’s Midtown neighborhood. The store, which is smaller than the chain’s typical footprint, features an expanded lineup of private-label products and lower prices designed to appeal to more budget-conscious shoppers, according to various reports.

  • Rite Aid taps Provision Interactive for in-store 3D rewards centers

    Chatsworth, Calif. -- Provision Interactive Technologies has entered into a multi-year partnership with Rite Aid Corp. to install Provision’s 3D Reward Centers kiosks inside select Rite Aid stores. The kiosks will generate 3D holographic videos as well as exclusive wellness+ information and Rite Aid promotions.

  • Tiffany to open Moscow store

    New York -- Tiffany & Co. has announced plans to open a two-level store in Moscow’s GUM luxury department store, located in Red Square. At about 4,520 sq. ft., the new store is Tiffany’s first wholly owned retail business in Russia, and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2014.

    “Establishing a presence at this preeminent department store is a milestone in our growth strategy as a leading global luxury brand and underscores the importance of the Russian market,” said Frederic Cumenal, executive VP Tiffany & Co.
