  • Jo-Ann brings a bit of OSU campus into stores

    HUDSON, Ohio — Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores has added The Ohio State University to its assortment of exclusively licensed collegiate fabrics.

    “We are thrilled to offer fans of The Ohio State University this exclusive-to-Jo-Ann line of fleece and cotton fabrics,” said Susan Starcher, buyer of fleece, warm and licensed fabric for Jo-Ann. “Our customers love to show their school spirit, and no other retailer offers a more diverse selection of college and university fabrics than Jo-Ann.”

  • A new way to connect with Canadian Shoppers

    Walmart has teamed with Rogers Media to create a new print and digital property called Walmart Live Better that will be distributed for free in Canada.

    One million copies of the magazine hit the market this week and the content is also available in a variety of digital formats.

  • PVH takes a swing at new Izod golf campaign

    NEW YORK — PVH is launching a new golf-focuse campaign for its Izod brand. The Izod Golf platform includes a new ad campaign, multi-year sponsorships of three “Team Izod” PGA Tour golfers, and multiple sponsorship activations planned throughout the season. 

  • Home Depot builds how-to video series with Martha Stewart

    Martha Stewart Living and The Home Depot have teamed up for a new video series launching April 25.

    The series will consist of three unique videos per week, released via e-newsletter, and hosted on the Martha Stewart Video Hub, Homedepot.com, Aol.com, and Yahoo Screen. 

    The videos will fall into two categories, highlighting Martha Stewart Living product sold at The Home Depot, and answering various DIY "how-to" questions:

  • Bi-Lo charity going to the dogs (and the cats)

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Bi-Lo annouced that, through April 30, it will host its fourth annual Paws “Feed the Love” campaign. “Feed the Love” is a pet food drive in which food donations go to local-area food banks for families in need to be able to provide food for the four-legged members of their families.

    MINNEAPOLIS — Lowe's has teamed up with Valspar to launch an expanded paint program to serve the  needs of the professional painter. The program includes a comprehensive lineup of Valspar-branded professional grade products in multiple formulations and finishes that simplifies paint selection while delivering on the durability and performance requirements of professional painters.

  • Samsung to open shops inside Best Buy stores

    RICHARDSON, Texas — Best Buy has partnered with Samsung Electronics to install Samsung Experience Shops in more than 1,400 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores across the United States beginning this month. By early May, 900 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile specialty stores will feature the Samsung Experience Shop, with the remainder launching by early summer.

  • Electronics department ends another experiment

    First it was RadioSchack and now Target has ended another electronics initiative with Best Buy.

    Target and Best Buy confirmed earlier this week that they agreed to end a partnership begun last August that involved Target offering Best Buy’s Geek Squad services at 29 stores in Minneapolis and Denver.
