  • Dr Pepper Snapple Group teams up with San Francisco Giants

    Dr Pepper Snapple Group has entered into a three-year sponsorship agreement with the San Francisco Giants that will give Snapple pouring rights and bring Snapple Tea and Juice drink flavors to AT&T Park.

  • Wrangler and Drew Brees redefine Comfort in Texas

    New Orleans Saints quarterback and Texas native Drew Brees will become mayor for the day of Comfort, Texas, on July 23 when the small town is temporarily renamed Advanced Comfort as part of a promotion for a new line of Wrangler jeans.

    In celebration of the launch, Wrangler will kick off a community-based initiative striving to improve towns across America that begins on Wednesday, July 23, when the town of Comfort is renamed Advanced Comfort for six months.

  • Academy Sports to enter Louisville, Ky. market

    Katy, Texas - Academy Sports + Outdoors announced a third planned Louisville-area store, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, scheduled to open in 2015. Academy previously announced stores opening in Louisville and Middletown, which will both open prior to the 2014 holiday season.

    All three locations were developed in partnership with GBT Realty Corporation. Academy Sports + Outdoors also announced new multi-year partnerships with both the University of Louisville Cardinals and also the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

  • Sports Authority hosts inaugural Football Field Day

    Sports Authority held its first-ever Sports Authority Football Field Day on Sunday for more than 2,000 attendees in partnership with USA Football’s Heads Up Football initiative. The free, on-field football training camp and vendor expo were open to the public and took place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

  • Dole announces 2014 California Cook-Off contest winner

    With the help of Chrystal Baker from DuoDishes.com, Naylet LaRochelle from Miami has won the sixth annual Dole California Cook-Off grilling competition and a grand prize of $25,000 for her winning recipe, Breezy Indian-Spiced Chicken with Mango-Peanut Sauce, Dates and Grilled Mango.

  • LPGA event a cause for donations

    While Walmart and the Walton family were taking heat, again, on the national stage over worker pay and alleged stinginess, it was a different situation in Northwest Arkansas where generosity was in plain view.

    The Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G is underway at the Pinnacle Country Club and as has been the case in years past the LPGA golf tournament is accompanied by numerous charitable donations.

  • Sports Authority and 49ers blitz Bay Area

    The Sports Authority enlisted the aid of current and former San Francisco 49ers greats to promote awareness of 18 stores it remodeled recently in the Bay Area.

    Grand re-opening festivities were scheduled for the 18 stores beginning on Saturday, June 28. Each of the remodeled stores features an intuitive design and specialty sport shops with products from top brands like Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and The North Face, according to the company.

  • Academy Sports + Outdoors gets its school spirit on

    Sporting goods and apparel retailer Academy Sports + Outdoors has renewed multi-year contracts with Auburn University and the University of Alabama. The renewal means that it will continue to sell the universities’ licensed products in its 13 Alabama stores.
     
    The retailer is currently an official sponsor of University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide and official sporting goods retailer for Auburn University’s Tigers, and has been working with the two universities for several years.
