  • Consumer Facebook usage grows

    Waban, Mass. - After a drop in daily Facebook usage on computers in 2013, U.S. consumers increased their daily use of Facebook, from 42.5% of the population in 2013 to 46.5% in 2014, according to new research by the Temkin Group. The "Social Media Benchmark Study, 2014" examines 10,000 U.S. consumers' use of several different social media sites, on computers and mobile devices, and compares the results to previous studies from 2012 and 2013.

  • flexReceipts taps new marketing chief

    Digital receipts company flexReceipts has named Megan Licursi as its chief marketing officer.

    In her new position, Licursi will oversee the company’s strategic vision and the implementation of its marketing approach. Previously, Licursi has helped national brands create and execute marketing programs, and will bring that to flexreceipts, which uses a software for clients to include promotions and social media links in electronic receipts they send to customers.

  • Domino’s launches social pizza giveaway

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza is partnering with gamification provider Quikly to give one customer free pizza for a year. Consumers can register for the Fan Perks giveaway beginning June 24, and participate in the giveaway that will take place at a time designed to surprise Domino's customers.

  • Survey: Social media has little brand impact

    Washington, D.C. - A clear majority of Americans say social media has no effect at all on their purchasing decisions. According to a new Gallup poll, 62% in the U.S. say Facebook and Twitter, among other sites, do not have any influence on their decisions to purchase products.

  • Staples launches omnichannel promo with Katy Perry

    Framingham, Mass. – Staples Inc. is launching an omnichannel promotion with pop singer Katy Perry in support of its “Make Roar Happen” campaign that raises money for DonorsChoose.org, a charity that raises funds for classroom projects across the U.S.

  • H&M previews summer looks with summer camp event

    Retailer H&M showed off items from its summer fashion line with a summer camp-themed event in Brooklyn.

    Following a preview of the fashion retailer, guests participated in postcard writing activities and played Ping-Pong, culminating in a performance by Zoe Kravitz’s band, Lolawolf, around a campfire.

    "I think H&M does a really great job making clothes that are affordable but still fashionable and well made,” Kravitz said.

  • PacSun runs omnichannel summer celebration

    Anaheim, Calif. - Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. celebrated its inaugural "Golden State of Mind Day" on June 21, which was the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. PacSun ran a full, 20-hour day of events and activations across the U.S.

    The #GSOMday hashtag was leveraged throughout the day on PacSun social channels, and all posts supporting GSOM Day are now featured on the PacSun website.
