  • Valpak integrates coupons into Google Wallet

    Largo, Fla. - Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, Inc. will integrate offerings of local and national coupons into Google Wallet via the Wallet Objects API. The Valpak.com “Save to Google" feature will be available for desktop and mobile web users later this week.

  • Overstock.com launches social media sweepstakes

    Salt Lake City – Overstock.com, Inc. is launching a social media-based sweepstakes inspired by its new "The Good Good" advertising campaign.

    Contest entrants participate by adding an image or pin representing the work of a non-profit that inspires them to Pinterest. Entrants will then share that pin on the Overtock.com website. One winner will be awarded $2,500, and Overstock.com employees will give the non-profit 100 hours of time.

  • Duane Reade finds ROI and engagement success on Twitter

    New York -- New York City drugstore operator Duane Reade, a division of Walgreens, on Tuesday celebrated an important social milestone — surpassing one million followers on Twitter — with a gala event at the chain’s flagship on Wall Street. From September 2012 to date, the regional retailer has organically grown its Twitter following by 6,709%, making it one of the fastest-growing accounts on Twitter year over year. With 1.1 million followers at latest count, the chain is believed to be the most followed retailer in the drug, food and mass arena.

  • Gap leverages digital, social, mobile space in new ad campaign

    Gap will launch a fall global marketing campaign called “Back to Blue,” featuring two videos with musicians Dhani Harrison and Alexa Ray Joel, which consumers can watch on TV, desktops and smartphones and tablets.

  • Ulta Beauty looking good in second quarter

    Ulta Beauty CEO Mary Dillon outlined some of the key priorities for her first 100 days at the helm of the beauty retailer, following a 24.8% boost in second quarter net sales.

    Dillon, a former PepsiCo executive, joined the company as CEO on July 1. She succeeded Chuck Rubin, who left the company to become CEO at Michaels Stores. Serving as interim CEO following Rubin’s departure was Dennis Eck.

  • Ulta Beauty Q2 net income up 28%; new CEO outlines growth strategy

    Bolinbrook, Ill. -- Ulta Beauty reported that its second quarter net income rose 28.3% to $44.9 million, compared with $35 million in the year-ago period.

    The company posted a 24.8% boost in second quarter net sales as CEO Mary Dillon outlined some of the key priorities for her first 100 days at the helm of the beauty retailer.   • CVS unveils health insurance outreach program

    CVS unveiled the details of a company-wide information and outreach program to help customers navigate their insurance options under the new healthcare law during a store visit in Orlando with U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

    The program includes retail events and brochure displays at more than 7,500 CVS/pharmacy stores and 650 MinuteClinic locations. Information is also available online at cvs.com/insurance.
