  • Something’s cooking at Barnes & Noble

    The nation’s largest retail bookseller has dreamed up another innovative way to drive traffic to its stores.

    Barnes & Noble has announced that it will be sponsoring the Barnes & Noble Cookie Bake-Off, a contest in which customers can submit cookie recipes for a chance to win prizes and have their winning cookies sold in Barnes & Noble stores.

  • Lululemon opens West Coast flagship

    New York - Lululemon on Thursday will open  a 5,766-sq.-ft. flagship at Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Calif..  The visual centerpiece of the store is an intricately-laid domed mosaic ceiling—in a vibrant blue hue—that reads, "Breath deep & appreciate the moment."   The storefront boasts a colorful, two-story, illuminated glass corner.

  • Project Spotlight: Steelpointe Harbor

    Bridgeport, Connecticut - A major Northeastern waterfront project has achieved lift-off. Bridgeport Landing Development, a subsidiary of The RCI Group, announced that it has completed the $15-million Phase I infrastructure improvements at its mixed-use Steelpointe Harbor project in Southern Fairfield County Connecticut and it has begun going vertical.  

  • Santa reaches for the stars at Macy's

    All systems are go and the holiday season is clear for takeoff at Macy's Herald Square in New York City.

    That’s because this year’s Macy’s Christmas window display, “Santa’s Journey to the Stars,” traces the adventures of Alex, a young boy who receives a magical and mystical telescope that allows him to experience the wonder of Christmas on other planets before landing back on Earth at the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

    Corte Madera, Calif. – Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc. has opened RH, The Gallery at the Estate in Buckhead, Georgia. Featuring six floors and nearly 70,000 total interior and exterior square feet, the new retail concept features dramatic interior and exterior installations of home furnishings in a gallery setting.  
  • Macy’s Herald Square holiday windows take customers on a star-crossed journey

    New York - Macy's Herald Square has unveiled its 2014 Christmas windows. Titled "Santa's Journey to the Stars," this year's display follows the adventures of Alex, a young boy who receives a magical and mystical telescope that enables him to experience the wonder of Christmas on other planets before landing back on Earth at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  
  • Despite big bargains, total holiday weekend sales slide 11% according to NRF estimates

    New York - Despite some of the most promotional activity and extended operating hours the retail industry has ever seen, total spending for the four-day Black Friday weekend came in below projections, down a surprising 11.3% from last year.  According to the National Retail Federation's preliminary figures,  weekend spending dropped to  $50.9 billion from $57.4 billion last year.
