  • Target opens Lily Pulitzer pop-up; line to drop Sunday in stores

    New York - Target Corp. on Thursday opened a pop-up shop at Bryant Park in mid-t0wn Manhattan selling what many experts say will be one of its most popular designer collaborations to date:  A 250-piece Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection. According to reports, 500 to 600 people were waiting in line at 8 a.m. when the temporary store opened.

  • 99 Cents Only caps record year of expansion

    A record number of openings in 2014 pushed 99 Cents Only close to the 400 unit mark, but the rapid pace of expansion did not translate to profitability during what the company called a transformative year.

  • 99 Cents Only Stores shrinks Q4 net loss

    City of Commerce, Calif. – 99 Cents Only Stores Inc. shrank its net loss to $2.3 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015, compared to net loss of $14.7 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014.  Net loss decreased primarily due to a previously disclosed workers' compensation charge in the previous fourth quarter.
      Net sales slightly rose 1% to $512.6 million from $505.7 million. Same-store sales climbed 2.8%. 
     
  • H&M shows its conscious in New York

    H&M gave new meaning to the phrase “pop-up store” with a merchandising initiative at its Times Square location focused on conscious commerce.

    The retailer, which operates 3,100 stores worldwide, chose the New York flagship location as the launch point for its H&M Conscious Exclusive Collection and the opening of its Conscious Pop-Up Store. On hand for the opening were actress Olivia Wilde and Barbara Burchfield of Conscious Commerce.

  • New Balance Experience Store opens in Philadelphia

    Center City, Pa. -- X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors, announced that partner MSC Retail has completed a lease transaction with New Balance Experience Store at 1615 Walnut Street in Center City.

    The new 2,200-sq.-ft. ground-floor retail space is located on Philadelphia’s leading high street, and will sit alongside The Apple Store, Urban Outfitters and Free People. It opened on April 1.

  • Academy does deal with Cardinals

    Despite not having any stores in or near St. Louis, Academy Sports + Outdoors has inked a multi-year brand building deal with the Cardinals that is sure to have fans of the popular hometown baseball team scratching their heads.

  • AT&T, Boston

    AT&T has opened one of its largest stores yet, a 9,000-sq. ft. location on Boylston Street in Boston.

    The store, which is just a few steps away from the finish line of the Boston Marathon, sets itself apart with an all-glass front and space that spans two floors. A Boston flavor is prevalent throughout the space, starting with an oversized Boston Marathon-themed mural.
