    Los Angeles -- American Apparel announced the extension of its partnership with ASOS. The U.K.-based fashion site, which has more than 3.7 million members, has expanded its buy of American Apparel products based on a 100% sell-through rate of a test buy earlier this year.

  • Online lingerie retailer gets a big-name CMO

    NEW YORK — Online lingerie retailer BareNecessities.com announced that it has named Jay Dunn as its new CMO.

    Dunn was the former VP/CMO of Lane Bryant and the man behind the company's controversial "Red Bra" campaign that was banned from ABC for being "too sexy." The campaign went viral and ended up winning several awards and being named Brandweek's top story of 2010. 

  • Macy's urges youth to 'DoSomething' in new campaign

    NEW YORK — Macy's announced that it is partnering with DoSomething.org to encourage students to make a difference in their communities. Launching on Aug. 8, the initiative will connect young people across the country with DoSomething.org and provide them volunteer opportunities in their area, the company reported.

  • Agency chosen for Ikea catalog revamp

    NEW YORK — Ikea announced that it has named McCann NY as its global agency of record for its catalog. According to the company, McCann NY will work with ICOM, Ikea's in-house communications team based at the company's headquarters in Almhult, Sweden.

     McCann NY has been charged with revamping the catalogue by utilizing new technology to create an integrated storytelling experience that includes reimagining the store environment.
