    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer announced that it will once again double match every customer's $10 Simply Give donation made April 12 to 13 to help restock the shelves of local food pantries that were depleted over the holidays.

  • Starbucks in Groupon deal

    New York -- Starbucks Coffee Company on Friday offered an online coupon though Groupon Inc., Bloomberg reported. It is the first time the chain has had a Groupon offering.

    For $5, customers received a printable gift card to use in Starbucks’ stores for $10, according to the report.

    Coupon publisher News America Marketing has expanded its mobile application to the iPhone following last year’s introduction on the iPad.

  • Importers split on spring sales growth

    NEW YORK — According to Capital Business Credit's quarterly Global Retail Manufacturers and Importers Survey, 50% of importers of retail goods are experiencing an increase in orders this spring as compared to last year, while 50% are experiencing a decrease or no change from the previous year. Of those surveyed who are having a stronger spring, the majority are experiencing growth between three and 10%.

    New York -- Importers and manufacturers who sell to America's major retailers are split as to whether they believe they will see growth and / or reductions in sales for the spring season, according to Capital Business Credit, a non-bank lender that services the retail sector.
