  • Gymboree Play and Music opens at Westridge Court

    Naperville, Ill. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 4,000-sq.-ft. Gymboree Play and Music recently opened at Westridge Court, located in Naperville, Ill.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Westridge Court.

  • Sport Clips, Evita Salon to open at Hamilton Crossing Centre

    Carmel, Ind. -- Indianapolis-based Kite Realty Group said that two new tenants will open at Hamilton Crossing Centre, located in Carmel, Ind.

    Sport Clips has leased 1,293 sq. ft. and Evita Salon & Spa has leased 1,956 sq. ft.

    Hamilton Crossing has a total GLA of 39,072 sq. ft. on 12.64 acres.

  • Target’s Steinhafel elected chairman of RILA board of directors

    Naples, Fla. -- The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) announced the election of Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president CEO of Target Corp., as chairman of its board of directors.

    “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as chairman of this exceptional group of industry leaders,” said Steinhafel. “Along with the rest of the Board of Directors, I value RILA and its efforts to champion issues that affect our industry, our workforce and our customers.”

  • Target CEO named chairman of RILA board

    NAPLES, Fla. — The Retail Industry Leaders Association has appointed new members to its board of directors, including a new board chairman.

    RILA said Target chairman, president and CEO Gregg Steinhafel was appointed RILA chairman of the board. Steinhafel, who previously served as vice chairman, succeeds Bill Rhodes, who currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of AutoZone.

  • And now a message about merchandise execution

    Matt Kistler is in a relatively new role at Walmart as SVP of merchandise execution and to explain what that means he is on the agenda for an upcoming event presented by Doing Business in Bentonville.

    Kistler is scheduled to speak on February 8 at the DBB event which runs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and will be held at the John Q. Hammons Center. He is expected to provide an overview of Walmart’s merchandise services unit that was created last year.

  • NRF welcomes Obama's plans to boost U.S. tourism

    WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation said it welcomed President Obama’s plans to boost travel and tourism, saying efforts to process visa applications more quickly will help U.S. stores make more sales to foreign tourists and business travelers who want to come here to shop.
