  • Consolo & Aquino to remake The Shops at St. Pete

    St. Petersburg, Fla. -- The Prudential Douglas Elliman retail team of Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino said Wednesday they will serve as consultants to the redevelopment of Baywalk Midcore Shopping Center into The Shops at St. Pete, a mixed-use property in St. Petersburg, Fla.

  • Kohl's opens at Killingly Plaza

    Killingly, Conn. -- Brixmor Property Group announced that Kohl’s has opened a new store at Killingly Plaza, located in Killingly, Conn.

    Kohl’s will take 55,068 renovated sq. ft. of the 66,000-sq.-ft. center, which was previously home to Stop & Shop and a Blockbuster video store.

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Killingly Plaza.

     

  • Wet Seal urges shareholders to reject Clinton efforts to gain control of board

    New York -- The Wet Seal Inc. encouraged its shareholders on Wednesday to reject efforts by its third-largest investor, Clinton Group, to gain control of the board, Reuters reported. The company's board has eight seats, of which one is vacant.

    Clinton, which holds approximately 7% of Wet Seal, said retailer earlier in the day backtracked on an offer, made via an investment banker, for four directors to resign in exchange for the activist investor ending its move, according to the report.

  • Men's Wearhouse teams with TheKnot.com

    Fremont, Calif. -- The Men’s Wearhouse and online wedding site The Knot Wedding Network announced Wednesday that Men’s Wearhouse will be the exclusive tuxedo provider for TheKnot.com.

    The new arrangement will give brides-to-be the opportunity to view and interact with Men's Wearhouse brand-name tuxedo merchandise at an early stage of the wedding planning process.

    Dallas -- Corner Bakery Café said Wednesday it has named Gary Price as president of the chain.

  • NRF: Holiday 2012 sales forecast to rise 4.1%

    WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation released its 2012 holiday forecast on Tuesday, which shows sales increasing 4.1% to $586.1 billion, down from last year's 5.6% growth.

    However, the NRF's 2012 estimate tops the 10-year holiday sales growth average of 3.5%.
