  • ODP strengthens Canadian presence with new website

    ATLANTA — Canada's importance to the retail industry continues to grow, made evident by the recent news that Office Depot has engaged ShopVisible, a leading provider of on-demand e-commerce, social commerce, and mobile commerce solutions, to launch the retailer’s new Canadian-facing e-commerce site.

  • Destination Maternity opens in South Korea

    Philadelphia -- Destination Maternity Corp. announced the opening of two namesake stores and two shop-in-shops in South Korea.

    The freestanding locations, in the cities of Koyang and DaeJeon, are the chain’s first stores in South Korea and were opened by partner Agabang & Co.

  • Weitzman names VP

    Dallas -- The Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group said that David Zoller has been promoted to the position of VP.

    Zoller is focused on investment sales and retail project leasing, as well as tenant representation for a select group of retailers, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
     

  • CB Richard Ellis announces promotion

    Los Angeles -- CB Richard Ellis Group announced Monday that Grayson Gill has been promoted to COO of the company’s Asset Services business line.  

    Gill previously held the title of Senior Managing Director.

    In his new role, he will be responsible for the operations of Asset Services in the United States, overseeing all of the business line’s operational departments, including Legal, Employee Relations, Finance, Technology, Procurement, Human Resources, Technical Services, and Client Accounting.

  • JSI Store Fixtures completes acquisition of KMP Fixtures

    Milo, Maine -- JSI Store Fixtures announced that it had completed the acquisition of KMP Fixtures of Atlanta, and Chicago. KMP Fixtures is a successful, long-time fixture supplier to the retail equipment industry.

    The acquisition of KMP strengthens JSI's position as one of the largest wood merchandising fixture manufactures in the United States.
     

  • Topshop opens in Chicago

    New York City -- British apparel retailer Acadia Group opened its second Topshop/Topman location in the United States, a three-level store on Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue. The space, which boasts some 35,000 sq. ft. of selling space, was previously was occupied by a Borders store.

    Topshop will debut its third U.S. location, in Las Vegas, in March 2012.

  • Weis promotes Tator to oversee private-brand program

    SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets earlier this week named Regina Tator as its director of private brands.

    Tator succeeds Bruno Garisto, who was recently named VP center store sales and merchandising. Tator will oversee the product development and sales and marketing for the company’s 6,300 private-brand products, including center store, healthy and beauty care, and perishable private products.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts looks to expand West

    New York City -- Dunkin' Donuts is looking to expand in the western part of the country. The chain said it is actively seeking franchisees for parts of Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and New Mexico, regions in which the Dunkin barely has a presence.

    To entice would-be franchisees, the company will offer reduced royalty fees and extra money for local advertising.
