Stein Mart makes board appointment

Jacksonville, Fla. Stein Mart announced Tuesday it has appointed Robert L. Mettler to the company's board of directors.

Now retired, Mettler is the former chairman and CEO of Macy's West.

Mettler's appointment to the Stein Mart board of directors is effective immediately. He also serves on the board of directors of Jones Apparel Group.
