  • Publix sees boost in private stock

    LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix's associates and board members will be pleased with the news that the company's private stock has increased from $22.40 per share to $22.70 per share, effective May 1. Since it is not publicly traded, only current Publix employees and members of its board of directors can buy Publix stock.

  • Goodwill sector selects Epicor to support non-profit retail operations

    Dublin, Calif. -- Epicor Software Corp. said Tuesday that Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin has selected the Epicor suite of retail solutions to support its growing retail operations.

  • CVS/pharmacy debuts updated mobile app

    Woonsocket, R.I. -- CVS/pharmacy said Tuesday it has introduced an updated mobile app that allows shoppers to digitally store their ExtraCare card in their smartphone, eliminating the need to carry an ExtraCare card when shopping.

    The CVS mobile app now allows members to scan the barcode on the back of their card or type in their account number manually. After the barcode is captured, customers' smartphones will work just like ExtraCare cards at the register.

  • Former Dell exec named head of SAP North America

    NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. — Enterprise software application company, SAP, has named Geraldine McBride as president of its North America region. In this role, McBride is responsible for all of SAP's business operations in the United States and Canada. She will report to Robert Enslin, president of sales and part of the SAP Global Managing Board.

  • Bon-Ton merchandising chief to retire, names new marketing head

    York, Pa. -- The Bon-Ton Stores said Tuesday that vice chairman/president of merchandising Tony Buccina will retire from the company effective Feb. 15, 2013.

    The retailer will launch a search for a new chief merchandising officer during this period.

    Additionally, Bon-Ton announced the appointment of Luis Fernandez to the newly created position of executive VP and chief marketing officer, effective May 7.

    Fernandez was previously VP, Last Call marketing & customer insight for the Neiman Marcus Group.

  • Gap names H&M global exec as president of Old Navy

    San Francisco -- Gap Inc. announced Monday that it has appointed former H&M global sales head Stefan Larsson as the new president of Old Navy, effective the end of October.

    Larsson replaces Tom Wyatt, who left the company in February.

    The move is expected to pay dividends for Gap as it preps to open its first overseas Old Navy store – in Japan – this July.

  • Old Navy taps into H&M success with new brand leader

    SAN FRANCISCO — Gap Inc. has selected long-time H&M veteran, Stefan Larsson, as the first global brand president for Old Navy. Larsson will join the company by October.

    Green Bay, Wis. -- Shopko Stores, through a partnership with Wishabi, is now offering customers access to a digital circular online at Shopko.com.
