  • Sales VP named at Ebay e-commerce platform

    CULVER CITY, Calif. — Glenn Hasen has joined Magento, the leading e-commerce platform part of the X.commerce division of Ebay, as VP global sales and channels. In his new role, Glenn will manage day-to-day operations of the sales organization and oversee merchant adoption, successful customer onboarding and retention of the Magento platform.

  • Sears former CEO D’Ambrosio saw pay shrink almost 90% in 2012

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- An SEC filing on Thursday revealed that Sears Holdings Corp. former CEO Louis D’Ambrosio, who stepped down in February citing family health issues, saw his total compensation package shrink nearly 90% from the prior year.

    According to the proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Sears said D’Ambrosio's salary rose to $1 million in 2012 from $930,769 in 2011. However, the value of his perks, such as corporate housing and travel, shrank to $278,741 from $852,037 in 2011.
     

  • Leslie's Swimming Pool to open 48 stores this spring

    Phoenix -- Leslie’s Poolmart said Monday it will grand-open 15 Leslie’s Swimming Pool Supplies stores across 10 states on April 5, as part of the company’s plan to open 48 new stores this spring.

    The new stores opening on April 5 include: Tucson, Ariz.; Pleasanton, Calif.; Rohnert Park, Calif.; Cockeysville, Md.; Gastonia, N.C.; Las Vegas; New Hyde Park, N.Y.; West Chester, Ohio; Spartanburg, S.C.; Harlingen, Texas; Lake Jackson, Texas; Sherman, Texas; Wylie, Texas; Manassas, Va.; and Virginia Beach.

     

  • KeyPoint Partners adds three management, one leasing assignment

    Burlington, Mass. -- KeyPoint Partners said it has added three Massachusetts retail properties to its portfolio that include property management and leasing assignments.

    The firm has been awarded property management contracts for 1080 Route 28, South Yarmouth and 978 Boylston Street, Newton; and property management and leasing contracts for Treble Cove Plaza, Billerica. Marathon Realty awarded the contract.

  • Family Dollar taps RetailSense for marketing software

    Tampa, Fla. -- RetailSense, a marketing software company that accelerates retail and agile marketing processes, announced that Family Dollar Store has signed a multi-year contract with Retail Sense. This new partnership includes the implementation of the latest release of IntelliSense marketing resource management solutions.
     

  • Burger 21 continues expansion in Florida

    Tampa, Fla. -- Burger chain Burger 21 – founded by the owners of The Melting Pot® Restaurants – announced the signing of two new multi-unit franchise agreements in Florida. Seven new restaurants will be developed over the next several years in the Fort Myers - Naples corridor, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Davie and Pembroke Pines.

    To date, Burger 21 has six restaurants open in Florida and 18 franchised locations in development along the East Coast.
