Amazon wastes no time with new Holiday Dash promotion

After taking a one-day pause following Prime Day, Amazon is jump-starting its Black Friday sale.

The e-tail titan is promising “Black Friday-worthy” deals during its new Holiday Dash deals event. The sale will feature more than 1 million deep discounts worldwide on products from large brands, as well as third-party sellers, across categories including toys, fashion, electronics, home, kitchen, and beauty.

Holiday Dash launches Friday, Oct. 16. While Amazon has not specified the duration of the event, the implication is it will last through the holiday season, with new deals offered every day. Amazon initiated its holiday sales season on Oct. 5 by launching its biggest-ever selection of holiday gift guides and exclusive online storefronts. The retailer is also enacting its extended holiday return policy, with most purchases shipped between Oct. 16 and Dec. 31 eligible for return until Jan. 31, 2021.

Consumers can shop Holiday Dash deals on the Amazon e-commerce site or app, or by asking an Alexa-enable voice device, “Alexa, what are my deals?” Holiday Dash deals are eligible to have a portion of the purchase price donated to charity via the Amazon Smile program.

Amazon has reported that third-party sellers generated a record $3.5 billion worldwide during Prime Day 2020.
