Amazon Prime rolls out in South Africa
Amazon is making its Prime paid subscription program available to customers in South Africa.
South Africa has become the 27th country around the world where Amazon Prime is offered. Consumers can sign up for Prime at a dedicated page on the South Africa with a 30-day free trial and then join for a monthly fee of $3.60 or annual fee of $24, which is an annual saving of $19 or 44%. Customers can pay online using a South African debit or credit card.
Benefits offered South African Prime members include fast, free delivery of Prime-eligible items across a range of categories including everyday essentials, groceries, electronics, home, sporting gear and kitchen. All orders placed before midday in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria have unlimited free same-day delivery with no minimum spend, and all South African Prime orders have unlimited free next-day delivery with no minimum spend.
In addition, South African Prime members will have access to the annual Amazon Prime Day sales extravaganza, which requires membership in its Prime subscription service to participate, and early access to major sales events like Amazon’s annual Black Friday promotion.
