Williams Sonoma launches new mobile iOS shopping app

Two portfolio brands of Williams-Sonoma Inc. are offering customers a number of new mobile features.

Williams Sonoma and Williams Sonoma Home are rolling out a new mobile iOS shopping app. Designed to deliver a seamless shopping experience, the new app enables customers to shop curated collections of products, create and manage registries on the go ,and have access to thousands of recipes tested by the Williams Sonoma test kitchen, along with exclusive how-to videos and smart grocery lists. 

The app is now available for free in the App StoreAdditional omnichannel features include:

  • Shoppable images designed to provide ideas and inspiration for activities such as hosting, entertaining, and setting the table.
  • Curated looks for different rooms of the house designed to easily click to shop.
  • Connect with design experts virtually or set up a one-on-one appointment.
  • Select a local store to receive notifications about in-store events and in-stock items.

"The Williams Sonoma app is designed to inspire our customers and help them discover new products while shopping through an enhanced mobile experience," said Williams Sonoma president Felix Carbullido. "By also providing elevated registry services, design help and account management tools, the new app is able to replicate several of our in-store customer service experiences for our online and mobile customers."

Pottery Barn banners release apps

The Williams Sonoma and Williams Sonoma app follow the release of app for several of Williams-Sonoma’s Pottery Barn banners. January 2023 saw the introduction of mobile apps from the Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen children’s and teen furniture and accessories banners, which include innovative features such as 3D augmented reality (AR) shopping.

In November 2023, Pottery Barn debuted a new mobile app. Features include:

  • Scheduling with a Pottery Barn Design Crew expert for a free in-store, in-home or virtual appointment, or engaging the app’s chat feature to connect with a Design Crew associate for mobile assistance.
  • Customers can share favorite items with contacts and on social media directly through the app.
  • Enhanced registry experience to track, manage and add items to a Pottery Barn registry directly in the app.
  • Customers can use the iPhone camera to see a virtual preview of products in their own homes.
  • Shopping for curated looks by room with tap to shop functionality.
  • Apple Pay checkout option.
