Wegmans expands online delivery options

Wegmans is partnering with Uber Eats.

An East Coast regional grocer is adding to its roster of on-demand delivery providers.

Starting in January 2025, Wegmans Food Markets is offering online delivery via the Uber Eats on-demand delivery subsidiary of UberWegmans locations in Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. are now available to shop on the Uber Eats and Uber apps.

Wegmans locations in New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware will be added to the Uber and Uber Eats delivery apps in February. Members of the Uber One paid loyalty program members will receive a $0 delivery fee and 5% discount on all Wegmans orders with a $35 minimum purchase, and all new Wegmans customers will get up to 40% off their next Uber Eats order of $60 or more until Wednesday, Feb. 5.

"Our goal is to make meals easy and help our customers live healthier, better lives through exceptional food," said Erica Tickle, Wegmans VP of marketing and digital growth. "Partnering with Uber and expanding our delivery network is just one way we're able to continue delivering on that mission."

Customers can browse and order from a selection of Wegmans products on the Uber Eats app, including fresh produce, prepared meals, and everyday essentials. They can also build group orders with family members, place orders any time of day, and select replacement items with real-time tracking.

Wegmans teams with multiple delivery providers

Wegmans began offering on-demand grocery delivery in under an hour from select stores via DoorDash in October 2024. This followed an existing partnership between DoorDash and Wegmans Meals 2GO, which brings a variety of hot and fresh ready-made meal options directly to customers’ doors, originally launched in 2019.

And in In February 2024, the grocer expanded availability of curbside pickup in its chainwide Instacart delivery program. In October 2024, Wegmans began enabling users of the Innit Personalized Shoppable Recipe program to fulfill ingredient orders for pickup or delivery at local stores.

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. is a 99-store supermarket chain with stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts. DoorDash provides an on-demand delivery platform in over 4,000 cities and all 50 states across the US and Canada.
