Wayfair Inc. is bringing its new large-format store concept to the New York metro area.

The online home furnishings giant will open its third brick-and-mortar Wayfair store, in Yonkers, N.Y., in early 2027. At approximately 114,000 sq. ft., the store will be located in the Ridge Hill open-air lifestyle center, which is about 18 miles from New York City.

The first large-format Wayfair store opened in May 2024 at Edens Plaza in Wilmette, Ill. A 150,000-sq.-ft. location in Atlanta set to open next year.

The Yonkers store will feature 19 departments showcasing furniture, décor, outdoor living, home improvement and more, all organized by style and to help customers easily navigate the store. The store will also feature a large assortment of Wayfair Verified, which have been carefully reviewed by the brand for quality and value.

"Over the past year, we've seen firsthand how a thoughtfully designed physical store can deepen engagement, drive growth, and introduce the Wayfair brand to entirely new audiences," said Liza Lefkowski, VP of merchandising and stores at Wayfair. "The upcoming Yonkers store builds on that momentum – bringing our immersive retail experience to the New York metro area and delivering the same inspiration, convenience, and flexibility our customers have come to expect."

Wayfari added that Yonkers’ proximity to the company’s New Jersey fulfillment center will enable fast delivery of large items, enhancing the in-store experience.

"New York is one of the most design-forward markets in the world, and Yonkers gives us the space to bring our retail vision to life," added Lefkowski. "This location lets us serve everyone from Manhattan to Westchester and beyond with an inspiring, full-scale shopping experience that Wayfair is known for."

In January, Wayfair said that one of its core initiatives is expanding its physical retail footprint. The company is set to debut the first-ever brick-and-mortar location of its upscale Perigold brand in Houston in June.

In addition to the Yonkers store announcement, Wayfair is touting the success of its debut location in Wilmette. According to the retailer, over 720,000 visitors have been welcomed since opening one year ago, and over 50% of purchasing customers were new to the Wayfair brand.
