Walmart is continuing its streak of holiday meal deals ahead of Independence Day.

The retail giant is offering Fourth of July shoppers a full cookout basket for eight people priced at less than $50 – approximately $6 per person – featuring brand name and private label products. Available now, customers can shop Walmart’s one-click summer cookout basket in store or online, which features grilling and picnic staples such as hot dogs, corn on the cob and potato salad, as well as drinks and desserts including chocolate chip cookies, soda, juice and more.

Walmart noted that according to the National Retail Federation, consumers are expected to spend an average of $90 on food items for Fourth of July celebrations.

“Spending more time with friends and family shouldn’t mean spending more money on the summertime essentials,” said the retailer in a blog post. “That’s why, this summer and every season, Walmart is committed to helping customers save money so they can live better, from the big moments like Fourth of July, to every other day in between.”

The meal deal comes just a few months after Walmart announced an Easter promotion that offered shoppers a holiday meal for 10 people for an average of $8 per person. In November 2023, Walmart started offering two Thanksgiving meal packages at a lower price than it offered in 2022, with availability through the Christmas holiday.

Following the Fourth of July, Walmart will run its fourth major sales event of the year, and largest promotion in its history. "Walmart Deals" will run from Monday, July 8, 5 p.m. ET through Thursday, July 11, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Customers will be able to shop thousands of deals on products in categories including electronics, home, toys, and travel via the Walmart e-commerce site and app.

Based in Bentonville, Ark., Walmart Inc. operates more than 10,500 stores and numerous e-commerce websites in 19 countries.
