Through Saturday, Dec. 10, Walgreens is offering free delivery on orders of $20 or more with a special code.
Walgreens’ 24-hour same-day delivery service is not currently available in Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Walgreens expands online delivery
Walgreens has been steadily building upon its online delivery offering since the retailer launched same-day delivery of select products with DoorDash in July 2020. Walgreens expanded the assortment of items it makes available for two-hour delivery to 24,000 in May 2021. The retailer also has existing partnerships with third-party delivery platforms including Shipt, DoorDash, Uber, Instacart, and Postmates.
Walgreens extended same-day delivery to prescription medication in July 2021. In October 2022, Walgreens partnered with DoorDash to facilitate free home delivery of Paxlovid, an oral COVID-19 medication administered to reduce the risk of hospitalization and death.
“Walgreens knows that taking care of health and wellbeing isn’t exclusive to business hours and that needs can pop up at any time of day – that's why we’re always looking for ways to enhance the customer experience with convenient and trusted solutions,” said Stefanie Kruse, group VP of digital commerce, Walgreens. “As the place customers turn to for their last-minute needs, we know they will find value in being able to access the items they need most, no matter the hour, right to their door.”
Headquartered in Deerfield, Ill., Walgreens operates more than 9,000 retail locations across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
