Target runs across channels with fall promotion

By Dan Berthiaume - 09/19/2019
The second annual “Target Fun Run Sale” includes mobile, online, and in-store components.

From Sept. 22-28, Target’s Fun Run Sale will provide hundreds of deals on in-store items via the discounter’s Cartwheel savings program in its mobile app. Discounts will include 20% off select home, apparel, food, and beauty products.

In addition to being able to redeem mobile offers at checkout, customers can also use Target’s drive-up and order pickup buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) services, as well as the Shipt online delivery service. Customers who spend $100 or more using one of these omnichannel services will receive a $10 gift card. Furthermore, customers who pay using the Target RedCard credit card by scanning their phone at checkout with the mobile wallet feature of the Target app will receive a 5% coupon.

Target is promoting usage of its app as it prepares for the national rollout of a new omnichannel loyalty program, called Target Circle, on Oct.6. Cartwheel will be integrated into the new program, with the deals rebranded as “Target Circle offers.”
