“What makes American Dream unique is our ability to connect guests with their favorite characters, and none is more beloved than Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob,” said Bryan Gaus, senior VP and general manager of American Dream. “We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating the world’s most positive and joyful sponge and all he’s meant to kids and families over the past 25 years.”

“SpongeBob Squarepants” officially premiered on July 17, 1999, chronicling the underwater lives of SpongeBob and his aquatic friends. It ran for 14 seasons as the highest rated Nickelodeon series and generated more than $13 billion in merchandising revenue for Paramount Consumer products during its run.

SpongeBob and the gang starred in three feature films: “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie” (2004), “Sponge Out of Water” (2015), and “Sponge on the Run” (2020).

“SpongeBob’s Jellyfish Jam” is one of the feature rides at Nickelodeon Universe.
