Spirit Christmas, an off-shoot of Spirit Halloween, is returning for a third season as it continues to expand its footprint.

The holiday-themed retail format plans to open 44 locations across 15 states. The openings will include its first-ever stores in Florida.

Spirit Christmas, which is part of Spencer Spirit Holdings, debuted in 2024, with 10 stores on the East Coast. It returned last year with 30 locations.

Designed as a one-stop destination for all things Christmas, Spirit Christmas features holiday décor, inflatables, animatronics, gifts, apparel, stocking stuffers and exclusive seasonal items. The store also offers a variety of attractions, including  “Candy Cane Express,” where customers are swept into the sights, sounds and scents of the season, and “Inflatable Land” starring Frosty the Snowman and other holiday favorites.

The first five Spirit Christmas stores will open on Saturday, Oct. 17, with the remaining 39 locations due to open in the first week of November after they transition from Spirit Halloween, according to a report by USA Today.

“The holidays are so much more than what's under the tree,” said Kym Sarkos, executive VP of Spirit. “They're about the traditions families return to year after year and the magic of creating new ones. Spirit Christmas was created to celebrate that feeling. From decorating your home and trimming the tree to family game nights and white elephant exchanges, we're proud to offer a holiday destination where guests can discover new favorites and create memories that become part of their own holiday traditions."

In September, Spencer Spirit said that it has completed its acquisition of Hot Topic Inc. and its brand portfolio — Hot Topic, BoxLunch and Her Universe — from Sycamore Partners.

“This transaction allows Spencer Spirit Holdings to expand its portfolio of lifestyle and specialty retail brands, bringing together six complementary concepts under a single platform and strengthening its position as a leading mall-based specialty retailer,” Spencer Spirit said in a statement.
