The majority of the Spirit Christmas stores will be in New Jersey and New York.

Spirit Halloween is trying its hand at a new holiday: Christmas.

Spirit Halloween will open 10 “Spirit Christmas” stores, starting with a location in Mays Landing, N.J. on Oct. 18. The 10 stores will all be on the East Coast, and will feature holiday decorations and gifts, along with a real-life Santa Claus for photo opportunities and a life-sized gingerbread village.

The nine other Spirit Christmas stores will open in early November, and “act as a test” to see whether customers will stay invested through the holiday season, according to a report by CNBC. The new retail concept comes as Spirit Halloween opened a record-breaking 1,525 locations this year in the United States and Canada.

E-commerce partnership

In addition to launching its Spirit Christmas concept, Spirit Halloween has announced a new partnership with Roadie which will offer same-day delivery from over 800 locations.

The partnership features a direct integration between Spirit Halloween's online store and the Roadie platform. This enables customers shopping online at SpiritHalloween.com to receive their Halloween essentials within hours of ordering.

Founded in 2014, Roadie, a UPS company, offers businesses “fast, flexible and asset-light” logistics solutions for last-mile delivery. Roadie enables local delivery to more than 97% of U.S. households by providing access to more than 200,000 independent drivers nationwide.

“We have a 'no zombie or witch left behind' policy at Roadie,” said Marc Gorlin, founder and CEO of Roadie. “But it happens some years – you get busy and all of a sudden, Halloween sneaks up and says, 'Boo!' But with Roadie’s help, getting all your last-minute Halloween needs doesn’t have to be a horror story. Just go to SpiritHalloween.com and order all the broomsticks you want.”

Last month, Spirit Halloween announced a delivery partnership with Uber to provide on-demand delivery from all its locations.

Spirit Halloween and mall retailer Spencer’s Gifts are part of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.-based Spencer Spirit Holdings Inc.
