Sheetz will enter Michigan in 2025.
Sheetz is growing its six-state footprint as it prepares to expand into its first new state in 20 years.
The Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain plans to expand into Michigan, starting in the Detroit area. The first location in the state is expected to open in 2025, starting in the Detroit market.
In addition to expanding into new markets, Sheetz is also growing in existing ones. In April, the chain said it would expand into western Ohio by opening approximately 20 locations in Dayton during the next five years. Sheetz is aiming to open its first Dayton store in 2024. (The company currently operates approximately 56 locations in Ohio.)
Sheetz is also expanding its footprint in its home state, reportedly planning to open as many as 30 new stores in Western Pennsylvania.
“We are thrilled to continue our growth into Michigan and bring the ultimate one-stop-shop to people across the state,” said Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz. “Sheetz is dedicated to being a great employer and neighbor and we cannot wait to put those values into action as we expand into our first new state in two decades.”
