Save A Lot is creating supply chain transparency.
Save A Lot is obtaining real-time inventory visibility to improve the performance of its licensed retail operators.
The discount grocer, which is transitioning from a retail to a licensed wholesale model, is deploying solutions from the artificial intelligence (AI)-based SymphonyAI Retail CPG suite. Specific applications Save A Lot is implementing include Master Data Management (MDM), Core Merchandising, Insights, Vendor Portal, and Retail Operations.
Save A Lot intends to obtain real-time inventory visibility, including data synchronization, to centralize control of inventory data across its licensed retailer network. The company also seeks to enable unified order management and access to store- and channel-level insights.
As a result, the retailer seeks to improve shopper satisfaction, reduce waste, and measurably decrease out-of-stocks via improved decision-making from increased data availability.
“At Save A Lot, we have undertaken a strategic transformation from grocery retailer to licensed wholesaler,” said Jennifer Hopper, CIO, Save A Lot. “With SymphonyAI Retail CPG technology, we get best-in-class solutions and can evolve to full end-to-end supply chain optimization that best supports our owner/operator retail partner network while giving us enhanced business agility, efficiency, and scalability.”
“We are pleased to partner with an innovative grocery wholesaler like Save A Lot to speed and streamline supply chain and store operations, enhancing both shopper experience and business performance,” said Raj Marimuthu, GM of supply chain management, SymphonyAI Retail.
Grocers manage core enterprise practices with Symphony RetailAI
Hawaii’s largest locally-owned grocery chain, Foodland Supermarket Ltd., is also leveraging a broad portfolio of AI-based solutions for supply chain, category planning and revenue growth from Symphony RetailAI. Foodland is automating and enhancing core end-to-end retail practices using Symphony RetailAI solutions.
Foodland’s initial AI technology implementations included Symphony RetailAI master data management, kitchen management, promotions evaluation and planning, and direct store delivery solutions. Later phases were scheduled to leverage Symphony RetailAI’s integrated category planning suite, including solutions for store insights, planogram automation, intelligent clustering, and shelf planning.
Modules are being deployed across Foodland and some of its sister companies. And Wisconsin-based grocer Festival Foods is also utilizing the Symphony RetailAI Master Data Management solution to help drive productivity with simplified vendor onboarding and the ability for suppliers to manage their data and collaborate within the shared insights platform.
