Retailers have access to a new set of cloud-based ERP applications tailored to their requirements.
Enterprise software provider SAP is expanding its industry cloud solutions portfolio, initially launched in June 2020, to retail. SAP builds and runs portfolio applications on its open cloud platform, using artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to support enhanced user experiences and digitalization and automation of operations.
SAP and its partners will provide solutions for the core business of retailers, such as machine learning algorithms to uncover previously undetected customer needs and create more relevant, personalized offers. Specific workflows retailers can manage via applications from the industry cloud solutions portfolio include omnichannel marketing; master merchandising data management; merchandise and assortment planning; pricing and promotions; forecasting, allocation and replenishment; warehouse management; retail store management; and customer experience management.
“SAP’s industry cloud provides a way to deliver industry-specific extensions that complement its intelligent enterprise strategy,” said Leslie Hand, general VP, IDC retail and financial insights. “With a robust ecosystem of partners that can deliver innovative applications with SAP, this endeavor can help customers be successful in growing markets.”
